Why Can't I Keep This Up?!

Why is it so hard to remember to update this blog?!  It can't have anything to do with me trying to watch 8 whole seasons of One Tree Hill before the final season finishes airing on tv.

I had such high expectations for reviewing all of the restaurants we try, all of the vacations we take, all of the recipes I try, all of the house projects we attempt undertake, etc.  There's no way I'll ever officially catch up so I'll just start in/around 2012...

We spent Christmas at home in Memphis.  Thanks to my awesome job I was off for 2 weeks; and hubby was blessed with 10 whole days off (so maj in residency world)!  We didn't go home for Christmas last year so we were extra excited about the extended time with family this year.  I stayed in Memphis for my entire break and my bestie came in town for NYE which we spent at the Peabody.

Next up was Mardi Gras...we went to one parade the entire week b/c we skipped town and headed west!  We've been talking about going to San Francisco and Napa Valley for years and we finally did it!  We spent 3 nights in SF and 2 nights in Napa.  We absolutely loved the area, especially the weather!!  We saw the obvious tourist sight...Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard Street, China Town, Union Square, North Beach, Golden Gate Bridge, etc...and it was exhausting.  My feet were killing me and I told V to make me wear tennis shoes next time, no matter how badly they look (yeah right!).  After the city life we drove north to wine country.  I'm in love with the valley and think I could actually see myself living the "country life!"  We visited 3 wineries and had some incredible food.  The amazing restaurants in the bay area are truly never ending.  See my trip advisor for my reviews of our dining spots:
Boulevard, New Delhi, The Daily Grill, Fog Harbor, Redd, Mustard's, Boon Fly Cafe, Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen.  If you have plans to visit the bay area I'll be happy to help you plan your trip or answer any questions!!  I think travel agent was my true calling in life :)  I hope to post on the trip in more detail

We haven't done much around the house, mainly for resident and teacher salary reasons.  We've hung some pictures, moved the tv to another wall, rearranged some kitchen cabinets and drawers but that's about it.  I'm hosting a bachelorette party/St. Patrick's Day weekend mid-March so my list is quite long of things to do around here.  Doc V is headed to another 6 week away rotation so I'll tackle most of that list while he's away and he can't object to any changes.
